What should we buy on dhanteras? Any suggestions?
When it comes to Dhanteras, I always see it as more than just shopping. It’s about making thoughtful purchases that bring prosperity and positivity into my home. Over the years, I’ve realised that what you buy matters as much as why you buy it.
Here are some of the items I prefer to buy on Dhanteras:
- Gold and Silver Coins: I always buy at least one coin, often engraved with Goddess Lakshmi or Lord Ganesha. It feels symbolic of wealth and growth.
- Jewellery in Gold or Silver: Even a small piece counts. It carries traditional value and adds to long-term investment.
- Electronic Appliances or Gadgets: Many families, including mine, use this time to upgrade essentials with the belief that it brings luck.
- Idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha: Buying idols is a common practice on Dhanteras. They are perfect for puja rituals and symbolising blessings.
- Silver Utensils: I find this practical yet auspicious. They hold cultural importance and are useful in daily life.
- Kitchenware: Buying cookware or small items for the kitchen feels like bringing fresh energy into the home.
For me, Dhanteras is about balancing tradition with practicality. It doesn’t matter if it’s a tiny coin or a new appliance. The act of buying itself feels like welcoming abundance. And that’s what makes the festival special every year.
Depending on your budget, you buy gold or silver.
If your budget is lower you can go for steel utensils.
Diwali is right around the corner, you can buy Laxmi Ganesh idol to kickstart festivities.
You can also go for a new electrical appliance, perhaps an air fryer or something that can be used in daily routine.
If you are extremely low on budget, one simple thing that is considered auspicious is a broom.
