What is UAN Card?

What is UAN card? Can anyone share?

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation issues an identification card to members with an active Universal Account Number. The EPFO assigns a 12-digit unique number to each UAN. It stays the same throughout a person’s career, even if they change jobs.

Each time you join a new employer, your EPFO assigns a new Member ID or EPF account linked to your UAN. This makes it an umbrella for all your PF accounts. A UAN card contains:

  1. UAN
  2. Name
  3. Name of father/husband
  4. KYC status
  5. A QR code for quick verification

This makes PF-related activities such as checking your balance, transferring funds, or making withdrawals much easier, since all linked accounts can be accessed from one place.

You can get your UAN from your employer, salary slip, or by using your PF number or Member ID on the UAN portal. Once you have it, you can download the UAN card anytime from the EPFO portal.

I keep a PDF copy saved for online use and a printed version for official work. It is a handy reference that saves me time and effort when dealing with any EPF-related process.
