756 number in credit is good?
Let me share my recent experience. A few months back, I visited one of the popular banks in India with my brother-in-law, whose credit score was 756. He was worried about not getting a car loan approval because of what he thought was a low credit score.
Guess what! The bank manager said, “756 goes beyond good; it’s the sweet spot that makes us feel confident about you.”
So, we went back home with a bag of assurance, including:
- Quick approvals for the car loans, even with faster processing.
- A lower interest rate (compared to others with a credit score below 720).
- A higher credit card limit (helpful as we wanted to purchase a luxury car).
- Some additional offers.
However, if you want, you can push your score even higher. Here are the dos and don’ts:
- Do keep your credit utilisation as low as possible.
- Don’t max out your card limit.
- Do request a credit limit increase if your spending stays the same.
- Don’t ask for it too often.
- Do maintain a strong payment history.
Don’t take it lightly. These are proven strategies to boost your credit score.
