How to Withdraw PF Amount While Working?
Just like you, I was also confused. In fact I thought PF withdrawal is only possible once you retire. But I learned you can withdraw PF while working in some conditions a few years ago.
Of course, you won’t be able to withdraw the full PF amount but you can access your savings without leaving your job. You can withdraw PF partially if you need medical treatment for self or family, there is no condition of service completion attached to it. Next, if you are getting married or going for higher education, you can claim partial PF withdrawal after completion of 7 years of service.
In case you want to do home loan repayment, house purchase or house construction, you need to finish 3 years of continuous service. In case of natural calamity or lockdown situations, you can claim partial PF amount.
To claim PF while working, you can go to EPFO website or just download UMANG app.
- UMANG App:
Go to EPFO services → Employee Centric Services → Raise Claim
- EPFO Member Portal:
- Log in with your UAN
- Go to Online Services → Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C & 10D)
- Select Form 31 for partial withdrawal
- Choose purpose and fill in required details
- Submit and track your status online
Just be sure your documents are in place and apply online for a smooth experience of PF withdrawal while working.
