How to Open FD in SBI Offline?

I am facing some challenges in opening my FD online. Someone please tell me how to open FD in SBI offline? What will I need to carry?

If you want to open an FD offline with SBI, it’s quite easy. This is all you have to do:

  1. Visit the nearest SBI branch from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.
  2. Ask for the FD application form from the bank staff and fill in details like:
  • Deposit amount
  • Tenure (how long you want to keep the FD)
  • Nominee details

It is a 7-page form and only fill in the portions that the banking staff asks you to.

  1. You need to carry these documents mandatorily:
  • Identity proof (PAN card, Aadhaar, voter ID, etc.)
  • Address proof (electricity bill, passport, etc.)
  • Passport-sized photographs
  • Deposit amount (cash or cheque)
  1. Submit the form and documents to the bank staff for verification.
  2. SBI will give you a receipt once your account is open, along with:
  • Deposit amount
  • Interest rate
  • Maturity date

That is how easily I opened a fixed deposit account in SBI. You can do it too.
