I think one of the most underrated investments in the financial market is the REIT, i.e., Real Estate Investment Trust. In this investment you practically own a piece of a premium office building, commercial property, mall, etc. Here you are not buying an entire property but just a piece in a commercial building. Mind you, REITs are regulated by SEBI, so you can expect transparency and customer protection.

Here is how to invest in REIT in India:

  • Open a demat and a trading account if you already haven’t
  • Do you research properly on the commercial buildings on the stock exchange. Check for yields, occupancy details, payouts, etc.
  • See what is the minimum investment in the selected property
  • Go ahead and place your order for REIT via trading account
  • Keep a check on this investment and track your income.
