Hey!how to get credit card with low CIBIL score? Please share tips.
If you do not have a CIBIL score, which is credit history, the easiest way to start is with a secured credit card.
I actually went this route myself. All I had to do was open a fixed deposit with my bank. Based on that deposit, the bank gave me a credit card with a limit. The limit is usually between 70% and 90% of what you deposit.
Getting the FD-backed credit card was simple, and approval was quick. The best part, however, was that by paying my bills on time, I slowly started building my credit score.
Apart from this, there are a few other routes too, such as:
- You can get an add-on card under the account of someone in your family who already has a credit card.
- Another option is a prepaid credit card, where you load money first and then use it like a regular card.
- Some banks also allow you to get a credit card linked to your savings account, where your deposits set the limit.
- If you are salaried, your bank might offer a credit card against your salary account, even without a score.
So yes, no CIBIL score does not mean no credit card. You just need to pick the option that works best for you.
