Want to close your Indian Bank FD online? Don’t worry, it’s super simple! Let me break down the process since I’ve recently done it myself.

  1. Visit the Indian Bank’s official website.
  2. Click on ‘LOGIN for NET BANKING’.
  3. Then, choose between two options: Individual and Corporate.
  4. Log in with your NetBanking details, including your user ID and Password.
  5. Also, choose between ‘Image Captcha’ and ‘Audio Captcha.’ Enter it for verification.
  6. Click on ‘Proceed’ to continue.
  7. Here, you will see the ‘Fixed Deposit’ button. Click on it.
  8. Select the ‘Liquidate Fixed Deposit’ option from the drop-down list.
  9. You will get a list of your FDs in the Indian Bank. Choose the FD that you want to close.
  10. Enter the necessary details accurately and hit the ‘Confirm’ button.

Instantly, you will get a notification confirming the closure of your fixed deposit. The best thing is that you can close your Indian Bank FD at any time, right from your phone.

You only need to download the Indian Bank mobile banking application, IndSMART, on your phone. The rest of the process is the same as mentioned earlier.

But I’d suggest not breaking a fixed deposit before its maturity. The bank will charge a 1% penalty on the total amount you have to return. I faced that issue a few days back and ended up losing money. So, think twice before making such a decision.
