how to check hallmark on gold?

When I bought gold for the first time, I didn’t know how to check if it was real or pure, but I learned that in India every genuine piece of gold jewelry has a hallmark stamp on it. Buying authentic and pure gold, it’s important to check for hallmarking. You can check for few things like-
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Logo
Look for the BIS logo on the jewellery. This is the official mark of authenticity and confirms that the gold is certified.
Identification Mark of Purity
Check the karatage and fineness number that indicate the purity of the gold (such as 22K, 18K, etc.). This helps you understand how much pure gold is present in the jewellery.
Hallmark Unique Identification Number (HUID)
Every hallmarked gold item now comes with a six-digit alphanumeric HUID. This number can be verified by buyers themselves.
You can use HUID to check on BIS CARE App by just entering six-digit HUID number. If the jeweller is genuine the details will appear on the app confirming the purity and authenticity.
