I recently helped a friend update their photo on their Aadhaar card, and the process turned out to be quite straightforward. If you also want to change the photo on your Aadhaar, here’s how you can update it.

Unlike online Aadhaar updates for address a photo update needs to be done offline by visiting an Aadhaar Enrolment or Update Centre. Here’s the step-by-step process:

  • Visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Centre.
  • Ask for an “Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction Form.”
  • FIll the form and provide valid ID proof.
  • Submit you biometrics
  • Get your new live photograph captured.

After the update, you’ll receive an acknowledgment slip containing a URN (Update Request Number), which you can use to track your update status on the UIDAI website.
