how to calculate 20 carat gold rate?
Hi,
You can easily calculate the 20 carat gold rate but for that you first need to understand that gold purity is measured in carats (K), where 24K is 99.9% pure. So, 20K gold means 20/24 parts of gold, i.e., about 83.3% purity. You can calculate the 20k gold rate by first checking the 24K gold rate in your city. Then multiply that price by the purity of 20 carat, which is about 83% of 24 carat (20 ÷ 24 = 0.833). For example, if 24-carat gold is ₹6000 per gram, then 20-carat gold will be ₹6000 × 0.833 = ₹4998 per gram. This is how you can easily calculate it before making any purchase. Jewellers usually add making charges (5–10%) and 3% GST on the final price. This way, you can calculate the 20 carat gold rate on any given day depending on the live 24K market price.
