What are the rules for premature closure of a SSY account?

A SSY account can be prematurely closed under the following circumstances:

  1. In Case of Account Holder’s Demise: The account will be closed immediately. The balance and interest up to the date of death will be paid to the guardian.

  2. Compassionate Grounds: If the account holder suffers from a life-threatening illness or in the event of the guardian’s death, causing undue hardship, premature closure can be requested.
