Share how to open recurring deposit in HDFC?
I already have a 3-month-old RD account at HDFC Bank, and the total tenure is 2 years. According to my experience, I am sharing the ways to open your new RD account.
Both online and offline channels are available to open an RD account at HDFC Bank:
- Online Process
- Log in to HDFC Bank’s Net Banking or Mobile Banking app using your credentials.
- Navigate to the “Recurring Deposit” section.
- Choose the monthly deposit amount and select the tenure for your RD, which can range from 6 months up to 10 years.
- Select the savings account from which you want to pay the monthly RD instalments.
- Confirm and submit your application.
You will get the RD account details instantly, and HDFC Bank will send confirmation via SMS or email. This process is fast and lets you start saving without visiting a branch.
- Offline Process
- Visit the nearest HDFC Bank branch and request the RD account opening form.
- Fill in your details, monthly deposit amount, tenure, and nominee information.
- Submit copies of your identity and address proof along with the form.
- Make the first instalment payment in cash or from your savings account.
- After processing, the bank issues a passbook for your RD account.
Personally, I prefer online opening to be more convenient, but visiting the branch is helpful if you want face-to-face assistance. For any kind of help, you can contact HDFC Bank’s customer care team at 1800 2600 / 1800 1600.
