How to change name in epf portal?
I once faced trouble claiming my PF amount as there was a mismatch in Name, DOB or Gender between Aadhaar and UAN data. If you’re facing the same issue and need to change your name in your PF account, here’s what you can do:
- First, log in to the official Unified Portal by entering your UAN and password.
- Click on ‘Manage>Modify Basic Details’.
- Now, enter the correct name as per Aadhaar (the portal will cross-check your details entered with UIDAI- Aadhaar)
- Hit the ‘Update Details’ button to send a request to your employer for further approval. Quick info: If you change your mind in between, you have the chance to withdraw your request before submission. Just press the ‘Delete Request’ button.
- Your employer will then log in to the EPFO Unified Portal and view your change request by clicking on the ‘Member>Details Change Request’ button.
- After that, it’s up to your employer to take the appropriate action and approve your name change request in your PF account.
Once you receive approval, you will be able to view the changes and check the status of your latest request. However, keep in mind that there are additional steps needed for final approval by the APFC/RPFC, so the process doesn’t conclude here.
