how to calculate 22 carat gold rate?
The gold rate usually in the news or on websites is for pure 24 carat gold (which is 99.9% pure). But 22 carat gold has only 91.6% pure gold, the rest is mixed with other metals for strength. So, to get the 22 carat rate, you just take the 24 carat price and multiply it by 91.6%. For example, if 24 carat gold is ₹6,000 per gram, then the 22 carat price will be ₹6,000 × 0.916 = ₹5,496 per gram. On top of this, jewellers usually add making charges and GST when you buy jewellery.
